Fertilizer scandal; MMDCEs, NPP Parliamentary candidates hoarded fertilizer for sale, I’m not to blame” – Bryan Acheampong clears air:
Bryan Acheampong blames NPP officials for the fertilizer scandal, citing sales for personal gains:

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, aspiring flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, has accused Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and NPP Parliamentary candidates of deliberately hoarding government-supplied fertilizers for personal profit. He used this strong claim to directly refute allegations that he was responsible for the fertilizer hoarding and scandal during the previous election cycle. He addressed these points while speaking to NPP delegates at the Kwadaso constituency in the Ashanti region.

Dr. Acheampong addressed claims that the non-distribution of fertilizers contributed to the NPP’s electoral losses. He denied any wrongdoing, stating, “I ensured the fertilizer was delivered to its designated locations. It’s untrue that I failed to send the fertilizers and that this led to our election loss.”
Instead, Dr. Bryan Acheampong placed blame on the MMDCEs and parliamentary candidates, alleging that they intentionally failed to distribute the fertilizers as instructed, seeking to profit from their sale. “They deliberately kept the fertilizers, intending to sell them for personal gain after we secured the election,” he stated. “They assumed they would be able to get away with selling them. We instructed them to distribute the fertilizer, but they did not, and now they falsely accuse me.”
He further claimed that after the election, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) discovered the stockpiled fertilizers and began distributing them. “Our own party members refused to distribute the fertilizer; they were kept in warehouses, some even here in Kwadaso. Why did you not distribute them yourselves but instead chose to keep them here, only to now blame me? Is it my fault? This propaganda will not work.”
Dr. Acheampong also touched on the challenges faced by the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) under the office of the Vice President, claiming that the program’s inability to pay beneficiaries contributed to the NPP’s defeat.
Dr Bryan Acheampong who is seeking to lead the NPP as flagbearer, assured the delegates of his willingness to unite the party and get it to power with ease. He also promised delegates of transparency, accountability, hard work and well-being should they give him the nod. Dr Bryan Acheampong who is currently touring the Ashanti region, has so far being to constituencies such as Suame, Asokwa, Bantama, Kwabre East, Oforikrom, Kwadaso etc.
