Former Assin Central MP and NPP Flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong has stated that he currently finds no justification to criticize President John Dramani Mahama and his government, ten months into the administration’s second term.

The statement has reportedly raised questions within NPP circles, with some speculating that Agyapong may be refraining from criticism due to outstanding government payments for his contracts.

In a radio interview that has circulated online, Kennedy Agyapong addressed these concerns, stating that he has no reason to criticize Mahama’s government at this time.

“I have heard they are saying I’m not attacking Mahama because government owes me and I want to be paid that is why I’m not attacking Mahama’s government. Ten months in government and what do you expect Mahama to do that you want me to criticise him? We have to be fair,” Kennedy Agyapong said.

He continued, “Ten months, even if it was cassava you planted, it would not have been ready for harvesting.”

Agyapong stated that his priority is his campaign and not focusing on Mahama and his government.

“I won’t criticise Mahama; I’m focusing on my primaries. I’m not saying that when there is something wrong we should not say. But me, I’m focusing on my primaries.”
