Ahafo Ano South West: NPP urges Ghanaians to reject NDC’s fraud allegations, claims legitimate victory:

The recent elections in Ahafo Ano South West reveal a split electorate, with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) securing the parliamentary seat while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is crying foul.
NPP Constituency Deputy Secretary, Eric Owura Agyekum, vehemently defended the victory of Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah-Dapaah in the parliamentary race, rejecting NDC allegations of widespread fraud.
Agyekum criticized the NDC for making unsubstantiated claims without providing concrete evidence and challenged them to provide specific examples of any irregularities.
He acknowledged the sophisticated voting patterns in the constituency, highlighting the NPP’s acceptance of a narrow loss in the presidential race, while noting a clear preference for Mensah-Dapaah as their MP, who won by a 686-vote margin.
Agyekum also raised concerns about Abubakar Sadick, a former NDC candidate seeking a District Chief Executive position, questioning the ethics of assuming two roles with potentially conflicting interests, and accused the NDC of misleading their base regarding election outcomes.
He dismissed the NDC’s claims of military intervention at the behest of the NPP, explaining that security forces were deployed to maintain peace and safeguard collation centers from potential unrest, not to intimidate voters.
Agyekum concluded by officially affirming that Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah-Dapaah will be the next Member of Parliament for the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, dismissing any ongoing NDC legal challenges.
