Mahama emphasizes unity, celebrates historic female Vice President, and pledges inclusivity:

In a powerful conclusion to his inaugural address, President John Dramani Mahama called for a shared vision of unity and collective action to bring about a national “reset” of the nation.
He urged Ghanaians to embrace both hope and faith and the ability to trust the things that will happen, stating “There’s reason for hope, and there’s every reason for hope”.
He then highlighted the importance of faith by saying “With faith, you believe what you know, and that is why we need faith to be able to achieve our reset.” The president stressed the collective responsibility of all Ghanaians to achieve this national “reset”, by saying “we need a reset with the faith we have in our country and our leadership.
We need a reset with the faith we have in our institutions.” Then emphasized that “all of us are Ghana”, indicating that all citizens are to actively participate in the rebuilding of the nation. He called on them to envision the kind of nation they want to leave for their children and grandchildren.
President Mahama then celebrated the historic inauguration of Ghana’s first female Vice President, Jane Opoku-Agyemang, noting that “this day is particularly special for us and for every Ghanaian who dreams of a society where barriers are shattered and ambitions are realized.” He highlighted her ascension to the high office as a “powerful testament to the power of diverse voices to shape the future” and a sign of the nation’s commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women.
He pledged that his administration would enact policies to empower women and ensure opportunities for all, regardless of their background and his administration was committed to governance that reflects all segments of our population, strengthening the nation’s democracy.
He then concluded by reminding all that great leadership was not defined by the offices they occupied but by the legacy they leave for future generations.
