“Hoarding riches amidst poverty all over is stupidity” – Ibrahim Mahama calls for unity and service
Ibrahim Mahama urges wealthy to aid poor, stresses fleeting nature of riches and power:

Prominent Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ibrahim Mahama, has issued a passionate call to the nation’s rich and privileged, urging them to utilize their wealth in support of the less fortunate. He emphasized that riches and power are transient, reminding everyone that “no one lives forever.”
In a video widely shared on X on October 25, 2025, the founder of Engineers and Planners spoke with conviction about the critical need for compassion and collective progress. He strongly condemned the hoarding of wealth amidst widespread poverty, describing it as “meaningless” and “stupidity.”

“We live in a country where help is needed, and you don’t want to help it is stupidity. You can’t be the richest person forever. You will die and leave it one day,” Mr. Mahama stated. He added, “Let’s try to work together. We will always have enough resources in the world.”
The business magnate underscored the profound importance of love, unity, and service to humanity, asserting that genuine success is measured by one’s contribution to society. “A lot of people have come and gone. And people will continue to come and go. We will all go,” he reflected. “So, in the small time that we live in this country, let us love one another and work together.”
Mr. Mahama also took the opportunity to caution Ghanaians against arrogance and discrimination, highlighting the temporary nature of leadership and privilege. “Whoever is president won’t be there forever. There is no big man, there is no small man we are all the same. You might just be lucky to be something that someone else is not, not because you are cleverer than anybody,” he concluded. His remarks serve as a powerful reminder for those in positions of influence to embrace humility and serve the greater good.
