Bryan Acheampong’s SSNIT deal contributed to 2024 defeat, he’s not fit to lead”- NPP youth organisers:
NPP youth group blasts Dr Bryan Acheampong's conflict of interest in SSNIT hotels deal, says he's unfit for leadership:

A coalition of 62 current and 34 former NPP Youth Organizers have denounced Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s presidential bid. They cited his actions, political dealings, and controversies as being fundamentally misaligned with the NPP’s values and future goals.
Speaking on behalf of the group in a press conference, Nana Kwadwo Pipim who is the Old Tafo Constituency Youth organiser said, their opposition wasn’t personal, but rather a conviction that Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s track record disqualifies him from leading the party.
“We stand here today to express our collective displeasure and strong reservations about some of the effusions of Dr. Bryan Acheampong during his campaign in the Ashanti Region. Dr. Bryan Acheampong has engaged in a campaign of lies and unfair accusations against Dr. Bawumia, failing to recognize that his own actions contributed enormously to the party’s electoral defeat in 2024.” The group said.
According to the Ashanti NPP youth organisers, the most significant point of contention was Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s attempted acquisition of majority shares in SSNIT hotels while serving as a Minister of State. The group vehemently condemned this act as a serious breach of public trust that angered millions of SSNIT contributors.
“This move was seen as a classic case of political elites attempting to capture public assets for private gain. It is estimated that about 1.7 million SSNIT contributors, as of 2021, may have been disenchanted by that singular action of Dr. Bryan Acheampong, leading to massive votes against the NPP. They not only voted against us, they actively campaigned against us.” Nana Kwadwo Pipim said.
The organizers highlighted Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s alleged lack of remorse or accountability despite widespread condemnation from workers’ unions, civil society, and even within the NPP itself. They argued that his lack of sensitivity to public sentiment eroded public confidence in government and contributed significantly to the party’s electoral losses.
“This episode reflected a pattern of self-interest and insatiable ambition at the expense of the collective good and the party’s image,” the statement concluded.
The group’s strong stance sends a clear message to NPP delegates that Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s past actions, specifically the SSNIT hotels controversy, are a major liability for the party as it looks toward 2028.
