Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the former First Lady of Ghana, has reportedly passed away.

Reports indicate that Agyeman-Rawlings had been experiencing health challenges and was under medical supervision prior to her death.

She was the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings and was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and social advocacy.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was widely known for her leadership in promoting women’s rights and empowering communities across Ghana.

Details surrounding her passing remain unclear, as both her family and hospital authorities have yet to release an official statement.

She served as Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001 and was the founder and leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP). She also established the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) in 1982, an initiative focused on empowering Ghanaian women through entrepreneurship, education, and political participation.

Her last public appearance was on August 13, 2025, when she joined her children in laying a wreath at the Ceremonial Garden of Jubilee House to honor eight public servants who died in a helicopter accident.
