21-Year-Old Danquah Domson Makes History as Ghana’s Youngest Lawyer

Danquah Adjei Domson, a 21-year-old from Breman Asikuma, has become the youngest person ever called to the Ghanaian Bar, marking a historic achievement in the country’s legal profession. The ceremony took place on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Born on April 12, 2004, to Mr. and Mrs. Adjei Domson, Danquah Domson completed his basic education at Breman Asikuma Colonel Baidoo School and later attended Breman Asikuma Senior High School and Life International College in Tema.

He pursued his legal studies at the University of Cape Coast’s Faculty of Law, graduating with First Class Honours in 2023. He then attended the Ghana School of Law, culminating in his call to the Bar at the age of 21.

Previously, Akpene Darko Cobbina held the record as the youngest person called to the Bar at 22 years and 198 days in 2019. Other young lawyers include Sarah Adwoa Safo (22 years and 280 days in 2004), Ama Aboagye DaCosta (22 years and 166 days in 2021), and Maame Efua Mussey (22 years in 2024).

The history of young lawyers in Ghana dates back to 1975 when Tsatsu Tsikata was called to the Bar at the age of 24.
