Prophetess Elizabeth Dankwah, founder of King Solomon Temple International, and Mubarak Mohammed, a former parliamentary candidate for the All Peoples Congress (APC), have been remanded in prison custody for the alleged murder of Eric Obeng Darkwah, former Headmaster of Dampong Senior High School and Adontenghene for the Nyaboo traditional council. The Kodie District Court, presided over by Her Lordship Madeline Thompson, ordered the remand.

The suspects are accused of murdering Mr. Darkwah after Prophetess Dankwah allegedly took an undisclosed sum of money from him in 2024 under the pretense of helping him unearth ancient family gold. It is alleged that, after she had successfully taken the money and allegedly unearthed the ancient gold in the family’s house, she failed to fulfill her promise.

The prosecution alleges that the prophetess invited the deceased to her church for a purification ritual, but instead, Mubarak Mohammed and three others, still at large, abducted and killed him.

Police preliminary investigations indicate that the murder was premeditated to avoid refunding the money or fulfilling the fraudulent promise. The suspects were arrested on June 9th and 17th, 2025, and subsequently arraigned before the Kodie and Suame District Courts. They are scheduled to reappear in court on August 19th, 2025, as authorities continue to pursue the remaining suspects.

Nana Kwasi Baffoe, spokesperson for the deceased’s family, expressed gratitude to the Ghana Police Service and called for justice to be served.

Adwoa Boatemaa, the widow of the deceased, also made a tearful plea for justice. “All hopes were lost following the alleged murder of my husband who was the breadwinner of the family,” she stated, adding that the children’s education and the family’s daily sustenance are now in jeopardy.

The court premises were filled with alleged victims of Prophetess Dankwah’s schemes, who accused her of being a serial fraudster. They claimed she collected various sums of money, including GH¢20,000, GH¢100,000, GH¢40,000, and GH¢50,000, for “ritual purification” of gold, but failed to return either the money or the gold. Several victims alleged a similar modus operandi, where the prophetess collected real gold and replaced it with fake bars after repeated demands for its return.

Meanwhile, during a previous court proceeding on July 7th, 2025 (which was postponed due to the judge’s illness), a man presented bars of gold alleged to be fake, claiming that the Prophetess had swapped his real gold with these fake ones.

The alleged victims pledged to testify against Prophetess Dankwah, expressing frustration at past failed attempts to seek justice, accusing the prophetess of using her connections to influence police officers. They expressed confidence that justice will finally be served.
