Dr. Time Da So’ condemns misinformation regarding herbal medicines, renews support for KNUST facility:

Dr. Adu-Gyamfi Atuahene Boateng, CEO of Medimafo Herbal Hospital, has expressed disappointment over claims that herbal medicines cause kidney and other health-related complications. Speaking at the commissioning of a newly renovated facility for the Department of Herbal Medicine at KNUST, which he sponsored, Dr. Boateng emphasized the need to debunk such myths.

As a public health researcher, Dr. Boateng cited his findings that certain foods, including kontomire, do not cause kidney issues. He called on authorities to conduct further research to prove the safety and efficacy of herbal medicines.

Dr. Boateng expressed satisfaction with the renovation project, which cost approximately GH¢100,000. He praised the leadership for utilizing the funds as promised and reiterated his willingness to support the institution in the future.

Professor I.K. Amponsah, Head of the Department of Herbal Medicine at KNUST, expressed gratitude for Dr. Boateng’s support. He highlighted the university’s infrastructure development challenges and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on funding. The renovated facility, equipped with new air conditioners and quality tiles, is a testament to the partnership between the university and Medimafo Herbal Hospital.

Professor Amponsah emphasized the department’s commitment to greatness for the university and the nation, thanking Dr. Boateng for his generosity.
