Eugene Amo-Asamoah Honored with Top Environmental Award at Millennium Excellence Awards

Eugene Amo-Asamoah, the Business Development Manager of the largest compost and recycling plant in Africa, KCARP, has received the prestigious “Youth in Environment Award” at the Millennium Excellence Awards.
The event, held at the Manhyia Palace on May 9, 2025, was organized by the Millennium Excellence Foundation, a renowned NGO dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievements across diverse fields.
His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, the life patron of the foundation, and the distinguished Executive Board, bestowed the esteemed honor upon Amo-Asamoah in recognition of his exemplary leadership and impactful contributions to environmental and climate sustainability.
Amo-Asamoah’s career is characterized by his pioneering efforts in waste management and recycling, consistently driving business growth and fostering innovation within the sector. He has spearheaded the implementation of sustainable waste management projects across numerous communities, both within Ghana and beyond its borders.
Furthermore, his leadership extends to the development and execution of comprehensive waste management strategies for institutions and organizations, providing invaluable technical assistance to government agencies and private sector companies alike.
Amo-Asamoah’s dedication to environmental stewardship is palpable through his fervent advocacy for regulated and environmentally compliant waste collection practices. His initiatives empower communities not only to achieve cleanliness but also to unlock economic opportunities.
Following the awards ceremony, an interview revealed Amo-Asamoah to be deeply humbled and grateful to his team members, acknowledging their indispensable contributions to his success. He also issued a call for concerted and deliberate efforts to create a better environment for all.
“I am very humbled and honored to have received the Highest Honour Award (Youth in Environment),” Amo-Asamoah stated. “My heartfelt gratitude goes to HRM, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and His distinguished Executive Board for this prestigious recognition. I would also like to thank the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, for his mentorship and guidance, and also thank all colleagues, team members, and staff for the various roles they’ve played in making this possible. I would also want to thank my wife and kids for their unflinching support over the years. We all need to be responsible for our environment, and as such, I would want to invite everyone to join me in the quest to make the environment a better place for all.”
He further emphasized that this recognition would serve as a powerful motivation to continue his impactful work.
