Akosua Agyapong Slams “Hypocritical” Pastors Over Premarital Sex
Highlife Star Akosua Agyapong Accuses Pastors of "Sleeping with Choristers" While Preaching Abstinence:
Veteran highlife musician and TV personality Akosua Agyapong has voiced strong criticism of what she describes as the hypocrisy of some pastors who preach abstinence from sex before marriage but secretly engage in premarital affairs themselves.
During a discussion on Joy Prime TV on April 10, 2025, focused on the topic of premarital sex, Agyapong accused certain clergymen of engaging in sexual relationships with members of their congregations, including choristers and ushers, while simultaneously preaching against fornication.
“Some pastors have already slept with their choristers and ushers. But when a man comes to marry them, the same pastor will say, ‘No sex before marriage!'” Agyapong stated.
She explained that her primary concern stems from the fact that these pastors continue to enjoy the trust and respect of their congregations while living in contradiction to their own teachings.
“You can call them fake, but to their congregations, they’re not. If they practised what they preached, I wouldn’t have a problem. But they should stop lying to their members,” she added.
Agyapong’s remarks follow her controversial call for single people to consider engaging in sexual relations before marriage to assess compatibility. She reiterated her position, stating that sexual compatibility is crucial for a successful marriage and helps prevent divorce and infidelity.
“Fornication involves consenting adults, but adultery breaks marriages. Sometimes, we make Christianity too hard, people should worship God in truth, not under false restrictions,” she concluded.
