Muslim community hails MTN’s enduring Eid Support, describing it as blessings to the underprivileged:
Ghana’s Muslim community has expressed profound gratitude to MTN Ghana for its unwavering commitment to supporting Eid-ul Fitr celebrations. The company’s consistent generosity, demonstrated through significant donations to the Office of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, and Regional Chief Imams across Ghana, is being hailed as a vital contribution to uplifting the less privileged and strengthening community bonds.
Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, receiving MTN’s donation in Accra, voiced deep appreciation for the company’s annual gesture. “This act of kindness helps uplift the less privileged and strengthens community bonds,” he stated. “These acts of generosity bring blessings not only to the recipients but also to the donors.”
Similar expressions of gratitude were conveyed by Sheikh Suleymana Ahmed Mozu, Regional Chief Imam of the Western Region, who recognized MTN’s ongoing support of Muslims in Ghana. “We are extremely grateful for this act of kindness,” he said. “MTN’s yearly support to the Muslim community demonstrates the company’s goodwill and commitment to building a strong society.”
Continuing its longstanding tradition, MTN Ghana presented food items and cash to the National Chief Imam and various Regional Chief Imams in Accra, Ashanti, Western, and Northern regions to facilitate Eid celebrations within their communities. Ibrahim Misto, Chief Digital Officer of MTN Ghana, emphasized the significance of Eidul Fitr as a time for gratitude, unity, and reflection, aligning with MTN’s core values of generosity, compassion, and peace.
MTN’s support extends beyond donations. The company actively participated in the National Sallahfest Cultural Night in Accra Newtown and Sallafest durbars in Kumasi and Kasoa. Service stands were also established at key locations to provide essential services like SIM swaps, Mobile Money assistance, and fraud prevention education.
For 17 years, MTN has stood as a steadfast partner to the Muslim community during Eidul Fitr, offering vital support through donations and events. This commitment also includes annual support to the National Hajj Board, aiding pilgrims traveling to Mecca.
