Olaonipekun Temitope has bravely shared her harrowing experience of being trafficked to Libya, where she was forced into prostitution.

In an exclusive interview with Nollywood actress and movie producer Biola Adebayo. Temitope recounted how a trusted friend of her mother lured her into the trafficking scheme.

Upon arrival in Libya, Temitope was forced to sleep with numerous men daily to generate income for her traffickers. She described the brutal reality of her existence, stating that on some days she was forced to sleep with up to 15 men, and on slower days, at least 10. “If I could flash back,” she said, “we used to sleep with 10 to 15 men in a day.”

Temitope endured this horrific exploitation for three weeks before finding an opportunity to escape. She revealed that she fasted for three days leading up to her escape, and credited her parents’ prayers back in Nigeria, especially her mother’s tears, for giving her the strength she needed. On the day of her escape, she jumped over a fence and fled to the Nigerian embassy in Libya.

Officials at the embassy provided her with assistance, ultimately facilitating her safe return to Nigeria.
