Don’t abolish national cathedral project, investigate and retrieve all stolen funds to complete it- John Mahama advised:

Following his electoral victory, President-elect John Dramani Mahama has been urged to continue the construction of the National Cathedral.
Very Rev. Jubilant Boakye Danquah, a retired Methodist Minister, former chaplain to the U.S. Military Hospital, and senior citizen, believes the project, despite its controversies, remains a worthwhile endeavor.
Meanwhile it is worthy of note that the NDC party, prior to the 2024 election made it clear that they were absolutely going to cancel the national cathedral project. They backed their campaign by indicating that the cathedral project which was someone’s personal pledge to God shouldn’t become a national burden on people, where individuals are asked to contribute financially. They also promised to retrieve all embezzled funds on the project, to help other developments.
However, Rev. Danquah argued that a completed National Cathedral would provide a suitable venue for significant national events, including presidential inaugurations, state gatherings, national awards ceremonies, and state funerals.
He highlighted the existence of national cathedrals in countries like the United States, France, and Germany, emphasizing their financial and social benefits.
He cited the recent rebuilding of a national cathedral in France, supported internationally, as evidence of the project’s importance.
“While the initial concept is sound,” Rev. Danquah stated, “concerns regarding alleged embezzlement of funds are deeply troubling. The incoming government must thoroughly investigate these accusations, recover any misappropriated funds, and ensure the project’s completion.”
