Minister attacks rise of “foolish prophecies” in Ghana, urges christians to be vigilant:

Spread the love

Evangelist Awusi, leader and founder of Two-Tap Ministries, has launched a scathing attack on what he terms “fake pastors” and those who peddle “sycophant prophecies” lacking wisdom. He expressed deep concern over the growing trend of individuals prioritizing prophecy over the preaching of God’s word and genuine repentance.

In a sermon to his congregation, Evangelist Awusi decried the prioritization of prophecy over prayer and Bible study, stating, “It’s very pathetic that most people don’t want to learn the word of God, they don’t seek for God’s direction through prayers. Most of us today love to quickly get into prophetic terrain instead of learning and preaching the word, praying, or seeking God’s wisdom. We resort to prophecies that are full of foolishness, thus without wisdom.”

He attributed this trend to congregants’ preference for prophecies over the core message of repentance, motivating pastors to prioritize prophecy for popularity. He criticized the lack of wisdom in many modern prophecies, urging church members to discern wisely.

Drawing a contrast between past and present practices, Evangelist Awusi highlighted the wisdom historically associated with prophecy, contrasting it with the often frivolous and attention-seeking nature of modern pronouncements.

“In the olden days, people used to prophesy in wisdom, but nowadays prophecies are full of jokes,” he stated, likening some contemporary prophetic practices to “concert parties and challenges,” suggesting a departure from genuine spiritual guidance. He emphasized the need for a return to biblical principles and genuine spiritual discernment.
