Ashanti NDC alleges electoral irregularities ahead of national polls:

Abass Nurideen (Esq.), Ashanti Regional Communications Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised serious concerns about potential electoral irregularities in the Ashanti Region ahead of the upcoming elections. In a statement released today, Nurideen highlighted several key issues:
Cleanable Indelible Ink: While the regional Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the NDC that cleanable indelible ink has been replaced, the party remains vigilant. Nurideen stated that such ink could facilitate multiple voting and impersonation.
Delayed Electoral Materials: The late arrival of electoral materials in several constituencies, including [insert specific constituencies], raises concerns about potential attempts to suppress voter turnout. The NDC urges the EC to ensure the timely delivery of materials to all polling stations.
Blocked Access to Form C1: In some constituencies, he said the returning officer prevented NDC agents from completing Form C1, the crucial ballot accounting document. The NDC has demanded the removal of this returning officer from their duties on election day.
Mismanagement of Biometric Devices: In Kwadaso constituency, he said, the district EC director’s actions of taking biometric devices home for three hours raise significant security concerns. The NDC has filed a formal complaint and demands a thorough examination of these devices to rule out any tampering.
Nurideen emphasized that the NDC has deployed a comprehensive monitoring system to counter potential irregularities and safeguard the integrity of the election. He called on all Ghanaians to actively participate in monitoring the electoral process. The NDC, he stated, remains committed to ensuring every vote is counted fairly and that the will of the people prevails. “We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the democratic process,” Nurideen concluded. “Change is coming.”
